I read this good and concise book, here in Brazil. This book has some chapters about Spanish American false heroes: Indian Emperors, Simon Bolivar, Pancho Villa, Salvador Allende, Juan Perón and Che Guevara.
Some great things showed in this good book:
1- Incas and Astescas were cannibals, with lust for human sacrifice and slavery. In fact, Cortez and Pizarro liberated Indians enslaved by other Indians, in Mexico and South America. This is the best chapter of this book.
2- Pancho Villa(1878 - 1923) was a murder, ever looking for fame, money and power.
3- Salvador Allende (1908-1973) was a former eugenist and an incompetent president, giving only misery, strikes and inflation to the Chilean people.
4- Che Guevara (1928 - 1967) was a competent murder and incompetent ruining Cuban economy. He also persecuted gays and Rock & Roll music, in Cuba.
5- Juan Perón (1893 - 1974) was a corrupt, incompetent and demagogue.
6- Simón Bolívar (1783 - 1830) was a coward and incompetent man ever looking for dictatorial power.
I found just one great problem of this book. It forgets the Paraguayan dictator Solano López(1826 - 1870). A chapter about this mad yrant would be needed in this book. The chapter about Peron would be better with more about his bad economic polices and less about his love affairs with girls.
